I would say one of the most !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! cars of the 90's.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
So what do you say? $25k for a pristine 1992 ZR1 with 24,000 miles.

Very very cp. You can.get a used C6 for that now a days and the C6 is clearly the superior car.

BEAUTIFUL car, but CP.

But will a plain old C6 be worth more than an early ZR1 years from now?

Of course not, but over all the C6 is better. Why buy an inferior car just because it'll be worth more if you don't drive it?

Money? I mean a classic E-type is inferior to a 1998 XK8 but I know which one I would have. It was just food for thought. Not saying I would buy this, but I'm not wealthy enough to disregard appreciating value.

i would buy it to swap the engine into a Lotus Esprit. That's where that motor belonged anyway.

I would say that would be like comparing a C2 and C6. Don't get me wrong, it's a great and beautiful car, but I don't think its the right price. At $15000, I'd say NP.

I would agree with you. I'm not fond of the C4, it's down there with the C3 for me, I was just throwing that mentality out there.

Don't think that could be more well put.

Yeah. I honestly love the later C4s and I think the C5s are good deals, but over all I think the C7 is the first spectacular modern corvette

Not with that kind of mileage. I'd probably go reasonable mileage late model C5 at 25k

Or maybe a C5Z if possible

You could absolutely get one for that price

NP. ZR1 prices have been going up and up. I think the late C4's have aged quite nicely. I've recently found myself wanting one really badly.

It's a C4 ZR-1, they are awesome cars, but they haven't gotten to the point of appreciation yet. If you want to have a C4, these are the best you'll get but they will also be the most painful if that motor breaks on you.
If you are looking for one as a driver, this might be a tad high but it is pretty much right where these are valued at.

NP, C4 Zr1s are nasty and this one looks incredibly clean.

Because the seats are genuinely better than anything in the C5 or C6.
Because the interior is laid out better than either the C5 or the C6.
Because it's wider than any factory Corvette sold to date.
Because there is no other Corvette with a 5.7 L, 32-valve, DOHC engine that can produce between 375 and 405 HP with 500 HP accessible by merely port-matching the heads. And it revs past 7,000.
That's why you buy a C4 ZR-1 over a $25,000 used base-model C6.

$25,000 is the going rate for any ZR-1 before 1994. The '94 and '95 cars command a serious premium because they might come with "Dunn heads" that supposedly flow better.
That is Average Price. This is NP territory.
I've seen black 1990-1991 cars in great shape go for half of your example. A pristine, all-papers-present 1990 black-on-black ZR-1 in North Carolina just sold last month for $12000.

Good thing the motor is probably the last thing in the car that will break, save for maybe the wheels themselves. :D

Why do you say that? The motor was not designed by Lotus for a Lotus car and then appropriated by GM, it was commissioned by GM specifically for the ZR-1. The specs are all GM-mandated.
